NEW INFO: We've extended the deadline and added more money in the hopes that the designers here can take some concept art that we have drawn and turn it into a great logo.
Please browse through the three different concepts in that Flickr profile and design something that looks like that. We loved the imagery of a skyline, and definitely want that incorporated. Thanks in advance, best of luck!!
General comment: so far the majority of logos are feeling too corporate or too childish. Try giving the designs a grungier "street" feel. If this company was started in New York, it would be from the Bronx or Brooklyn, not Manhattan.
#4926 is pretty cool. Since we're not a TV company, though, is it possible to have a different image incorporated? Like a video camera or a city skyline or something to do with the internet/social media instead of a TV set?
#4876 and #4875 are not as sleek and professional as we would like. They feel too childish (and "Thread" is spelled incorrectly).
General comments: A lot of the time our company just refers to itself as "Thread" instead of "Thread Media". Would like to see some designs that have the word "thread" by itself. Also, we're a grassroots company and we spend a lot of time on the streets with our videocameras trying to capture the cool look and angles of urban centres (so one of our main concerns is being "trendy" or "cool" to our core 18-35 male demographic). We're ok with bold colours, but bright/light ones like the yellows and blues being used so far aren't feeling right.
Title
Logo Design | Thread Media
Design Requirments
Brief Overview: Thread Media is a Canadian Based new media company. Fresh, local and entertaining, Thread offers a new perspective on localized events, people and culture. Presented on a web platform, Thread creates dynamic videos that tap into the personality of a community. Thread Media is the community’s camera crew. We don’t do news. We don’t show up at events and ask boring questions. We’re the humorous side of the city, creating videos that people can share and turn viral. We want to make the city viral, showcase the excitement of the people and capture the zany nature of the community. We’re here to give everyone their time in the spotlight. We're called Thread Media because we want to be the connectors in the community. We are a core group of 4 people who come from different backgrounds in video production and marketing and we pride ourselves on being the connectors in the community and creating something that will have value to our city. Brand Name: Thread Media Target Audience: Age demographic between 19 to 30 years old. We're looking for university aged, outgoing, event people who tune into shows on MTV.ca, who constantly seek out events and places to go. Our target audience are constantly on social media, tapping into mediums like Facebook and Twitter and constantly keep up-to-date with current events in fashion, entertainment, media and sports. We want to create a logo that catches the eye of this quick-paced, rapidly changing age group and resonates in their head. Requirements: We require a logo that looks good on a dark (black) screen. We'd like it to be fairly simple but really encompass our company name. We have debated the idea of having a contemporary or a vintage feel to our logo and are open to trying both styles out. Colour: We are open to a few suggestions but do have some requirements. We would like to see our designers try out using a number of colours. We like bold and bright colours and we are open to seeing what designers can come up with in terms of colour combo. We have no restriction on the number of colours used in our logo. Type: We do not want our company name in all capital letters and we'd prefer our font to be sleek and NOT corporate. Other Requirements: No cartoon characters or emoticons in our logo Here's a site we found with some logos we loved: http://dzineblog.com/2009/01/54-kick-ass-creative-logos.html Our favourite logos on this site were: 1) Zip 2) August 3) Families 4) MindDead We love the play on words - for example August is written out simply, with an 8 as as the g. Since it's the 8th month, it's fitting. We love the double entendre in this logo. We also love the simplicty of these logos. They're unique, eyecatching and fun but very very simple.
